Hello everyone!
If any WDM protection needs to be deleted. Now, I will share with you a quick and easy way. You can follow below procedure:
1. Choose Service> WDM Protection Subnet > Manage WDM Protection Subnet from the main menu (traditional style); alternatively, double-click Bearer Network Service Configuration in Application Center and choose Protection Subnet > WDM Protection Subnet > Manage WDM Protection Subnet from the main menu (application style).
2. Right-click the protection subnet to be deleted and choose Delete from the NM or Delete from the NE or Delete All from the NM from the shortcut menu.
NOTE: The methods to delete a protection subnet are as follows:
a. Delete from the NM: Deletes the relationship between the protection subnet and logical systems at the NE side, to allow U2000 to delete fibers, re-upload NEs data, and so on. This command is not delivered to the NE and does not affect the services. The deleted protection subnet can be located by using the search feature. The U2000 locates it according to the NE layer protection information.
b. Delete from the NE: Deletes the protection subnet, logical systems at the NE side, and all traffic in the protection subnet. The deleted protection subnet cannot be restored without being created again.
c. Delete All from the NM: Deletes data other than fibers at the network layer. This command is not delivered to the NE and does not affect the services. After the deletion, you can search out trails and protection subnets again by using the search feature. It is recommended that you do not select this option, because a large amount of data will be deleted.
NOTE: If you need to delete an SNCP protection subnet in a PP protection subnet, do as follows:
d. Delete the PP protection subnet and delete the involved trail from the network layer.
e. Search for SDH trails.
f. Open the Manage SDH Trail window, select the involved trail, click Create/Modify and choose Modify Trail.
g. Click the SNCP Settings tab and delete dual-fed and selective-receiving points.
h. Click the Trail Settings tab and click Cancel Route Constraint.
i. Click OK.
3. In the Operation Prompt dialog box, click OK.
NOTE: If Delete from the NE is selected, you need to confirm the operation once more.
4. Click Closein the dialog box that is displayed to complete the operation
Thank you!
