The laser transmission degradation alarm threshold is set to 1.2 times the initial value of the bias current. When the laser bias current exceeds this value and is less than 1.5 times the initial value, a laser transmission degradation alarm is generated.
The board laser may not work properly, the output light of the laser is of low quality, bit errors are generated, or even services are interrupted.
1: The laser is aging.
2: The detection circuit of the board is faulty.
Procedure
If it is the first case:
(1) Check whether the board that reports this alarm supports pluggable optical modules.
If the board supports pluggable optical modules, Replace the specific pluggable optical module.
If the board does not support pluggable optical modules, Replace the board.
(2) Check whether this alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, see the alarm handling.
If it is the second case:
(1)Replace the faulty board. Refer to Replace the board.
(2) Check whether this alarm is cleared. If the alarm persists, contact Huawei for assistance
In a cooled optical module that adopts the automatic level control (ALC) function, the laser is aged after long-term operation and the laser emitting efficiency decreases. To ensure constant output optical power, the laser bias current, an index that reflects the laser aging degree, needs to be increased.
