Hi!
On an LSISAS2308 RAID card, you can group the hard disks to RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 1E. Table 1 lists RAID groups on LSISAS2308 RAID cards.
Table 1 RAID groups on LSISAS2308 RAID cards

RAID Group

Description

RAID 0

Supports two RAID 0 groups.

Each RAID 0 group supports a maximum of 10 hard disks.

RAID 1

Supports two RAID 1 groups.

Each RAID 1 group consists of 2 hard disks.

One or two global hot spare disks are supported.

RAID 1E

Supports two RAID 1E/10 groups.

Each RAID 1E/10 group consists of 3 to 10 hard disks.

NOTE:

If an odd number of hard disks is selected, RAID 1E will be configured. If an even number of hard disks is selected, RAID 10 will be configured.

Two global hot spare disks are supported.

  • Hard disks in a RAID group must be of the same type (SATA or SAS).
  • In the same group, the sector size of each disk must be the same.
  • You must configure RAID groups before installing the operating system.

For the LSISAS2308 RAID card, if a faulty disk in a RAID group is replaced, the data will be synchronized automatically to the new disk.

The RAID 0 does not support data synchronization.
Procedure
1.Delete existing RAID groups.
