Hello, everyone!
Today, I will continue to share my knowledge about how to connect a printer by Huawei ONT.

Generally, there are three methods:
NO1. Sharing the printer by Ethernet port.
Prerequisites:
The ONT supports and is enabled with the routing function. Prints Ethernet data transmission.
Procedure:
1. Log in to the ONT web configuration page. In the navigation tree on the left, choose LAN > LAN Port Work Mode. In the pane on the right, determine whether the LAN port which connecting the PC and printer works in layer 3 mode, then click Apply.

2. Connect the ONT to the printer using a network cable.
3. Install the print driver on the PC connected to the ONT, and search for and add the IP address of the printer. The printer is ready to be used after successful operation.
NO2. Sharing the printer by Wi-Fi Network
Prerequisites:
The ONT supports the Wi-Fi function and is enabled. The printer supports Wi-Fi.
Procedure:
1.Log in to the ONT web configuration page and enable the Wi-Fi function.
2. Connect the printer to the wireless network and record the IP address obtained by the printer.
3. Install the print driver on the PC connected to the ONT, and search for and add the IP address of the printer. The printer is ready to be used after successful operation.
NO3. Sharing the printer by the USB Port of the ONT
Prerequisites:
The ONT supports USB print sharing. USB port communication is supported.
Procedure:
1. Log in to the ONT web configuration page. Click the Network Application tab, and choose Home Sharing from the navigation tree on the left. In the right pane, configure the home sharing settings, then click Apply.

2. Connect the printer to the USB port of the ONT.
3. Install the print driver on the PC connected to the ONT, and search for and add the IP address of the printer(The IP address of the printer is the web login address of the ONT). The printer can be used after successful operation.
Note:
1. When Wi-Fi and Ethernet ports share printers, It is recommended that a fixed IP address be allocated to the ONT and MAC address binding be performed. This prevents the printer's IP address from changing after the ONT is powered off and restarted.
Log in to the ONT web configuration page. Click the LAN tab, and choose DHCP Static IP Configuration from the navigation tree on the left. In the right pane, click New. In the dialog box that is displayed, set MAC address and IP address, then click Apply.

2. The PC can be connected to the ONT in wired or wireless mode.
3. Different models of ONT may have different menu paths. The above is an example of HG8245H.
4. When installing the print driver on the PC, ensure that the ONT is connected to the printer and the PC properly.
5. A file (such as PDF) may fail to be printed in the Windows OS in any of the following cases:
The Windows domain is used and the user domain fails to be authenticated.
An alias is used to access the printer.
No authentication mode is used for a printer.
6. This issue occurs because of application program incompatibility. If this issue occurs, check your Windows or printer settings.
If the security software is installed on the PC, which leads to Samba user name authentication failure for the first login attempt, authenticate the user name again or use the Samba function in anonymity.
That's all for today's basic knowledge sharing.
