This document describes how to connect EMI to Smartlogger1000A through WebUI. Below can be found the list with the devices already configured in Smartlogger1000A

1. Connect EMI through Modbus RTU
Connect the EMI in one of the RS485 empty communication port: 12- RS485 port 1-3

1.1 Login on Smart Logger1000A as Advanced User:

1.2 Set the RS485 communication parameters
Choose Settings tab and from Comm. Param. MenuàRS485 and set the communication parameters for the EMI accordingly with instruction provided: baud rate, parity, stop bit and start address-end address:

1.3 Add EMI device manually
After you set the communication parameters for EMI you must add the devices manually in Smartlogger1000A:
MaintenanceàConnect DeviceàAdd Deviceàchoose device type EMI, port number and the EMI addressàAdd device

1.4 Select the EMI type
After the communication parameters are set and the EMI is added we must select the EMI type like below:
Monitoringàselect the EMIàRunning Param. àSelect the EMI modelàSubmit

1.5 Connect other type of EMI
If your EMI is not in the list then choose EMI model Other and set the Signal Address (Modbus register) and the Gain (format data) accordingly with the EMI instruction received:

This last configuration is available when you want to connect an ambient sensor only or an irradiation sensor.
The difference is that you must configure only temperature or irradiance signal address and gain from the sensor manual.
2. Connect the EMI through AI port
SmartLogger1000A can receive AI signals from EMIs over AI ports. It is recommended that the signal transmission distance be less than or equal to 10 m.
2.1 Connect the EMI in one of the AI port: 4 - AI port 1-4

Set a different address than all the existing address on Smartlogger1000Afor the new EMI.
