Dear Forum friends,
Today I would like to share with you some knowledge about the SUN2000L grid-connected meter connection method.
APPLICATION SCENARIOS OF SUN2000L
SUN2000L applies to the grid-tied system for household rooftop power plants. The system consists of PV strings, grid-tied inverters, AC switches and power distribution units. In addition, it can connect to on-grid meters and energy storage devices.
ISSUES CAUSED BY INCORRECT CONNECTIONS
After SUN2000L is connected to an on-grid meter, some issues may occur:
sometimes the meter cannot be detected;
sometimes the meter data in the hosting cloud is incorrect.
As shown in the below figure, the two power stations have these two issues, respectively:

No meter:

The export command output is incorrect.
CORRECT CONNECTION MODE
Ensure that the networking architecture is correct. The schematic diagram is as follows:

Finally and most fallibly, the inverter has two RS485 ports. The first port is used for cascading inverters, while the second port is used for connecting to the grid-based meter and energy storage device. That's why we need to connect our communications line to port 485-2.

SUMMARY
This post describes how to connect SUN2000L to a meter and the precautions for connecting the 485 communications cable to SUN2000L. Hope you can refer to it; if you have any questions, you can leave me a message so that we can discuss together.
