Hello, friend!

The WMU board is used to monitor the fixed wavelengths of the OTU board at the transmit end of a system with 50 GHz or 100 GHz channel spacing.

The board can monitor the wavelengths in two optical transmission directions.

Generally, the IN1 and IN2 ports are connected to the MON optical ports on the OA or FIU/ITL boards in the two transmit directions respectively.

The WMU board monitors the wavelengths at a 50 GHz/100 GHz channel spacing in the system.

For the position of the WMU board in the WDM system, see Figure 1.

One WMU board can implement the centralized wavelength monitoring in two directions. Figure 1 shows the two WMU boards, which, however, refer to the same WMU board.

The WMU board needs to be configured only when a 10G fixed-wavelength optical module is used on the WDM side of a service board in an 80-wavelength system with 50 GHz channel spacing.

The WMU board has only one functional version: TN16.

TN11WMU	TN16WMU	The TN16WMU can be created as WMU on the NMS in OSN 8800 subracks. The former can substitute for the latter, without any software upgrade. After the substitution, the TN16WMU board functions as the TN11WMU board.
NOTE: When universal platform subrack is used as a master subrack, TN16WMU board cannot be installed in slots IU1 and IU2. Therefore, if a TN11WMU board is installed in slot IU1 or IU2 and the universal platform subrack is used as a master subrack, the TN16WMU board cannot substitute for the TN11WMU board.
