You can configure 802.1x authentication to implement interface-based network access control. This means you can authenticate and control access users connected to an interface on the access switch. For S series switches (except the S1700), perform the following operations to configure 802.1x authentication:
1. Configure an authentication domain and AAA scheme for users.
2. If remote authentication is used, configure the RADIUS or HWTACACS server template on the switch and configure the user name and password of the access user on the RADIUS or HWTACACS server.
3. If local authentication is used, configure the user name and password of the access user on the switch.
4. Enable 802.1x authentication in the system view and on an interface.
