I want to know how to commission optical power using the U2000 when the optical power attenuation in a cable section in a WDM link is high.

Hello,
Please be informed that, if the attenuation of a line on the network to be commissioned is too large so that the gain of the OA board cannot be compensated, check and repair the line fiber. If this problem persists, use an OA board with larger gain on the receive end of the line, or cascade OA boards.
Thanks

Hello user!

First, repair the line failure, and then consider adding OA boards (both at the source and sink ends). If conditions permit, you can add an optical relay amplifier station in the middle of the line.
