Hello, guys!

Good day to you!

This post describes the methods of collecting logs of IPT services. If you don't know which are the IPT services, you can obtain it from the documentation.

IPT services

To locate IPT services problems, collect SIP tracing, IMPU tracing, and debug logs. If sip trunks are used, SIPOP tracing is required.

Principle:

  1. SIP tracing: Collects all SIP messages received and sent by the system in current time, therefore, you need to create a tracing task, reproduce the problem, and save the tracing result.

  2. IMPU tracing: The IMPU is a subscriber number. The IMPU can trace only the internal subscribers of the system. After the IMPU is created, the system collects the messages and logs recorded by the current IMPU in the system in real time. Therefore, it is the same as SIP tracing, it needs to create a message tracing task, reproduce the problem, and save the tracing result.

  3. Debug log: When the system is running, the system continuously collects the logs generated when the system is abnormal. The old logs are cleared because of the memory. Because the logs are continuously collected, only the ERR logs are printed by default. The entire processing flow in the IMPU tracing is not involved, therefore, if the problem cannot be reproduced, you need to return the debug log and try to reproduce the problem. Capture the SIP and IMPU tracing results.

  4. Sipop tracing:Collect the internal message processing flow of the trunk module in real time. The process is the same as that of SIP tracing. After the trunk module is created, the problem needs to be reproduced and the tracing task needs to be saved.

Methods

Note: If the site is a redundancy site and you do not know the site where the user is registered, you need to create a tracing task for both OMUs.

Collect SIP tracing information.

You need to use the Huawei operation and maintenance tool (LMT).

  1. Log in to the LMT.

  2. The IP address of the server is the OMU IP address.

    LMT

  3. Create a SIP message tracing task, as shown in the following figure.

    LMT

Pay attention to the following points in the preceding figure: 1. Do not filter anything. 2. If the message is not automatically saved, only 2000 messages are saved. If there are a large number of messages, the previous information will be overwritten, which affects fault locating. If you forget to save the file automatically during the creation, you do not need to worry. After capturing the file, you can right-click the file and choose Auto Save from the shortcut menu. If Auto Save is selected, this parameter cannot be selected.

    LMT

  4. After the message tracing window is closed, the tracing task is automatically saved to the specified path.

    LMT

  5. When a large number of messages are traced, multiple files are generated. The names of the same tracing task are added in sequence, as shown in the following figure.

    LMT

Collect IMPU tracing results

Note: Create message tracing tasks for all USM users involved in the process.

  1. Create an IMPU tracing task under SIP tracing.

    LMT

IMPU format:For example, in the preceding figure, sip:55555@ucclab.com, sip: is fixed, 55555 is the user number, @ is fixed, and ucclab.com is the system domain name. If you are not sure, you can query the system domain name on the sysPortal.

    LMT

  2. You can also run the LST UPORTAL command in the USM to query the information.

    LMT

Note: The IMPU can only be used to trace the messages of the USM user. In the incoming trunk scenario, the tracing of the called party needs to be captured. In this case, the sip:xxx@domian tracing is not only required. In addition, the IMPU of the request URI header in the INVITE message needs to be found in the SIP tracing, as shown in the following figure, sip:0161302000@172.30.9.6 needs to be captured.

    LMT

  3. If the access number service is involved, you also need to capture the IMPU of the access number. The access number domain is the same as the common number.

Collecting Debug Logs

  1. Open the file transfer service, select the host log, and select the corresponding path.

    LMT

The following figure shows the log path. The latest logs are not compressed, and the time when the compressed package is generated. The time in the compressed package is the time when the last compressed package is generated to the time when the current compressed package is generated.

    LMT

  2. Right-click the package and choose Download from the shortcut menu. The compressed package is downloaded to the local folder on the left.
