How to Clone Cameras

Hi, guys!

This article describes how to clone cameras.

  1. Log in to the C/S client of the master server  as the Admin user and double-click Devices,

  2. Click the Local Domain tab.

    1. Select the cameras

    2. Click Clone.

  3. Select the backup domain and backup destination MPU

  4. Click OK. 
    The cameras are cloned.

Before backing up video, you need to clone cameras whose live or recorded video needs to be backed up to the backup destination MPU. The cloned cameras are called shadow cameras. Shadow cameras are displayed in the device list on the Devices, Backup, and Playback tab pages of the C/S client in the master server of the backup domain. Additionally, original camera names will be suffixed by Clone. Shadow cameras are only used to back up checkpoint data and live and recorded videos and play back backup recordings so that users can identify the shadow cameras in the backup domain. Shadow cameras do not provide other functions for example live video viewing.
