Hello, all!

This post enquires about how to clear the iStack configuration from an S5700. Please see more details below.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

I have a pair of S5700-LI that I have configured as an iStack.

Huawei S5700-LI

I would like completely reset the switches to factory defaults, including the iStack configuration. I can't work out how to do this.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION

I have tried:

  • resetting saved-config;

  • booting into rommon and deleting vrpcfg.zip;

  • deleting vrpcfg.zip from the switch once booted.

The stack config does not seem to be saved in the vrpcfg.zip and every time I reboot and run 'display stack current-config' I still have the same stack configuration.

I can't find an option to configure 'undo stack enable' or anything like that.

How to clear the iStack configuration from an S57000?

Thanks, Simon

There are two ways to splitting stack accord to different stack mode(service port mode, stack card mode).

1. Using service port

  • Run the system-view command to enter the system view.
  • Run the interface stack-port member-id/port-id command to enter the logical stack port view.
  • Run the shutdown interface { interface-type interface-number1 [ to interface-type interface-number2 ] } &<1-10> command to disable physical member ports.
  • Run the undo port interface { interface-type interface-number1 [ to interface-type interface-number2 ] } &<1-10> enable command to restore physical member ports to service ports.
  • Run the quit command to exit from a logical stack port.
  • Run the stack slot slot-id renumber 0 command to restore the stack ID of a member switch to the default value 0.
  • Power off all the member switches.
  •

    2. Using stack card.

  • Run the system-view command to enter the system view.
  • Run the stack slot slot-id renumber 0 command to restore the stack ID of a member switch to the default value 0.
  • Power off all the member switches.
  • Remove the stack card.

Thanks for that. Have performed those commands.

The stack led on the front of both of the switches still flashes on and off constantly. If the stack was disabled I would have thought this light should be off?

Can you confirm that the stack config is fully cleared?

If I go "display stack current-configuration" and "display stack" this is the result:

    ---------------current-configuration on slot 0 Begin---------------
    stack enable
    stack slot 0 renumber 0
    stack slot 0 priority 100
    stack reserved-vlan 4093
    stack timer mac-address switch-delay 10

    interface stack-port 0/1

    interface stack-port 0/2
    ---------------current-configuration on slot 0 End-----------------

    <HUAWEI>display stack
    Stack topology type: Link
    Stack system MAC: 1051-7248-c114
MAC switch delay time: 10 min
    Stack reserved vlan: 4093
Slot of the active management port: --
Slot      Role        Mac address      Priority   Device type
    -------------------------------------------------------------
        0     Master      1051-7248-c114   100        S5700-28X-LI-AC

Thanks very much for your help,

    Simon
