In this post, I would like to share with you how to clear NESTATE INSTALL alarm on GSCC
The NESTATE_INSTALL is an alarm indicating that the NE is in the installing state. This alarm occurs when the NE is just delivered from the factory or when the user issues the command to initialize the NE.
After the alarm occurs, no configuration exists at the NE side. Reload the configuration at the NE side. Otherwise, the NE cannot be configured with services.
Handling Procedure
Perform the following operation to clear the alarm.
1. Take the MO Back up and script file of the network for precautionary purposes.
2. Save the sdh service configuration for this particular NE for precautionary purposes.
3. Then download the configuration data from the NMS to NE at downtime.
4. After downloading alarm will get automatically cleared.
As a suggestion:
Don't upload the configuration data from the NE to NMS otherwise all the related data has been washed out from the NMS as well as NE and your traffic will get affected.
In that case, you can restore the script files for that particular NE and restore the traffic.
