Hello Community Members,

In the previous post【How to check】GSM Security Encryption Algorithm A5 Status - Part 1 I have showed how to check and enable the A5/0, A5/1 & A5/3 security encryption on BSS side through command line (MML).

In this post, I will show you How to check the GSM Security Encryption Algorithm A5 Feature Activation Status through Configuration Report Management.

Note: This guide is based on web-based U2020 of following version to check the feature activation status on BSC level.

U20202 Version

Access the web-based U2020 & log in with your credentials.

U2020 Login

Once you logged in, you can either search for 'Configuration Report Management' in Deployment or you already have it in Recently Used or My Favourite.

step2

3

search

Access 'Configuration Management Report'

5

Once 'Configuration Management Report' is loaded, double-click to open 'BSCBASIC' Report Template under BSC > BSC > BSCBASIC on right navigation bar. (as seen in picture below)

Note: BSCASIC report template is customized and can be created by selectin new report button (Create Report) and then search for BSCBASIC in the attribute.

6

After double-click on 'BSCBASIC' Report Template under BSC > BSC > BSCBASIC the following option will pop up. Select the desired BSCs/NEs to right to make your selection

7

Once Selected, Click OK

8

The report will extract and show the data of the selected NEs as below:

9

On the data output listed, press Cltr+A to select All records, then right click to Save As

10

Now Save into the desired folder on your local system as below:

11

11

Now you can open the exported report to see the data for further workings as required.

Just like we did in the previous post, by Running a MML command LST BSCBASIC on BSC to check if A Interface Tag, Um Interface Tag, and Abis Interface Tag are laready set to GSM_PHASE_2Plus or not. In this post we did the same feature check through BSC Basic Data Extraction in excel format in Configuration Report Manamgement on U2020.

This method is recommeded over MML method, due to large number of NEs are involved or extracted data is desired in report (excel) format.

Thank you for reading. In the next part I will show how to check the Security Encryption Modes on Cells-Level via Configuration Report Management on U2020.
