How to change the Wifi SSID and password of a Huawei ONT?

Huawei EchoLife ONT product family includes HG8010, HG8010H, HG8045, HG8045A, HG8240, HG8240H, HG8240T, HG8240W, HG8245, HG8245H, HG8245Q, HG8245T, HG8247H, router, etc. This time I will share with you a very simple and useful post about changing the default Wifi SSID and password for this products.

First of all, HG8010, HG8010H, HG8240, HG8240H, HG8240T, HG8240W are bypass ONTs and do not support Wi-Fi function. So you will have to change the Wi-Fi password on the connected router. For more details on how to change the Wi-Fi password, consult your dealer or your provider's support line.

For ONTs with Wi-Fi function such as: HG8045, HG8045A, HG8245, HG8245H, HG8245Q, HG8245T, HG8247 and HG8247H, please follow the steps below to change the Wi-Fi SSID and password:

In most cases the user to log in to the configuration page is root , the password is admin, and the IP address is 192.168.100.1. However, for security reasons, the default password and IP address should be changed before the equipment is delivered to the end user. Enter the IP address in the address bar of your web browser.
Enter your login credentials, and click Login
Click the Advanced Configuration > WLAN tab, and then choose WLAN Basic Configuration from the navigation list in the left pane. In the right pane, configure the basic parameters of the Wi-Fi network, and modify the Wi-Fi SSID and password in the text boxes marked in red in the following image.
Then click on Apply

User and password to log in to the website.

You can check the username and password on the product label
Enter the default IP address in the address bar of your web browser and press Enter. On the login page, enter your username and password.
Click on the System Tools tab and then choose Modify Login Password from the navigation list. In the right pane, change the user's password.
