How to Change the NE ID on U2000

Hello, everyone.

Today, I'd like to share with you how to change the NE ID.

The ECC protocol uses the NE ID as the unique identifier of an NE. Hence, you need to assign a unique NE ID to each NE when planning a network. Any conflict of NE IDs will cause an ECC route conflict and the failure on the NMS to manage certain NEs. During commissioning or capacity expansion, you can adjust the existing network plan or change NE IDs on the NMS if required.

1.In the NE Explorer, select an NE and choose Configuration > NE Attribute from the Function Tree.

2.Click Modify NE ID. The Modify NE ID dialog box is displayed.

3.Set New ID and New Extended ID. Click OK.

4.Click OK in the warning dialog box.

Changing an NE ID may cause NE communication interruption and NE restart.
After an NE ID is changed, equipment configurations such as protection and fiber connection may be unavailable. Therefore, it is recommended that you change NE IDs before the equipment is configured.

Useful for my daily work, thanks
