Symptom
On a newly-deployed network, the IP address of the OptiX OSN 1800 is not the default 129.9.*.*. In addition, the IP address cannot be obtained by broadcasting ping packets or using ECC links.
Hence, the IP address of the OptiX OSN 1800 need to be changed to the default 129.9.191.240 at the site.
Procedure
- For the OptiX OSN 1800 V100R001: First, press and hold the LAMP button on the SCC board for five to ten seconds and release the LAMP button. Wait for five to ten seconds. Then repeat the preceding operations once. Second, press and hold the LAMP button for more than five seconds. After that, the IP address is changed to the default one.
- For the OptiX OSN 1800 V100R002: First, press and hold the LAMP button on the SCC board for five to ten seconds and release the LAMP button. Wait for five to ten seconds. Then, press and hold the LAMP button for more than five seconds. After that, the IP address is changed to the default one.
Result
The problem is resolved.

Observe the time for holding the LAMP button and the
interval between two press actions as described previously. If the operations
are not regulated properly, changing the IP address will fail.

will be unreachable by the NMS. When this occurs, reconfigure the IP address of
the NE at the site.
