The post will share with you how to change the Demain ID of switches.
The domain ID of each switch to be cascaded on the same fabric network must be unique. Therefore, you need to change domain IDs of the switches to be cascaded as planned or as required. Otherwise, the Domain Conflict error will be reported on the E-port (the default domain ID of each switch is 1). When the domain ID is being changed, the switch is disabled and all services of the switch are unavailable.
Step 1. Run the switchdisable command to disable a switch.
Step 2. Run the configure command to change the domain ID of the switch. The value ranges from 1 to 239.
Step 3. Run the switchenable command to enable the switch and run the switchshow command to check whether the switch status changes to online.
You can run the fabricshow command to view domain IDs of all switches on the fabric network, making it easier to plan the domain IDs of new switches.
