Hello, everyone!

We need ODU Station Type to make "TX high" instead "TX low" how it is now. How can we do it in iManager U2000 WebLCT? Or may be it is impossible?

You can use the U2000 network management system to modify the ODU parameters.

Setting ODU Power Attributes

The ODU power attributes define the transmit power and receive power of the ODU.

Prerequisites

  • You must be an NM user with NE operator authority or higher.

  • The IF boards and the ODUs to which the IF boards are connected must be added on the NE Panel.

Web LCT also supports this operation and the steps are the same as those on the U2000.

Procedure

  1. Select the ODU from the Object Tree in the NE Explorer. Choose Configuration > ODU Interface from the Function Tree.

  2. Click the Power Attributes tab.

  3. Set the parameters of ODU power attributes.

  • Maximum Transmit Power(dBm) is set according to the network plan. This parameter cannot be set to a value that exceeds the nominal power rang of the ODU in the guaranteed capacity modulation module.

  • The maximum transmit power adjusted by using the ATPC function should not exceed Maximum Transmit Power(dBm).

  • Transmit Power(dBm) is set according to the network plan. This parameter specifies the transmit power of the ODU. This parameter cannot be set to a value that exceeds the nominal power rang of the ODU or a value that exceeds Maximum Transmit Power(dBm).

  • Power to Be Received(dBm) is used to set the expected receive power of the ODU and is mainly used in the antenna alignment stage. After this parameter is set, the NE automatically enables the antenna misalignment indicating function.

  • Power to Be Received(dBm) is set according to the network plan. When this parameter takes the default value, the antenna misalignment indicating function is disabled.

  • TX High Threshold(dBm) and TX Low Threshold(dBm) are valid only when the ATPC function is enabled.

Click Apply.

Dear Sergey_B!
Do you want to decrease the output optical power of the TX port on the tributary board?

I have two ODUs which look at each other and I have to change the Station Type on both. The 1st ODU has the Station Type "TX high", TX Frequency 15000, T/R Spacing 200. The 2nd ODU has the Station Type "TX low", TX Frequency 14800, T/R Spacing 200. I want 1st ODU to have TX Frequency 14800 and 2nd ODU to have TX Frequency 15000. How can I change the setting?

My both units have similar settings. As I understand it is impossible to change the ODU Station Type. My way is only to swap the ODUs. Or I'm wrong.

Station Type is ODU`s feature assigned by the unit manufacturer and I will not be able to modify it. Is that so?
