Changing the Login Password

This topic describes how to change the U1981 unified gateway login password. Change the password periodically to ensure password security.

Background

Table 6-1 lists the initial login passwords of the U1981 unified gateway.

The password for logging in to the web management system is the same as the password of the U1981 unified gateway in config mode. If you change either password, the other password is synchronously changed.

Change the login password periodically to improve system security. You are advised to change the U1981 unified gateway login password once a month.

Procedure

  • Changing the password of the U1981 unified gateway in view mode

  1. Access the Config mode of the LMT command tree. For how to log in to the LMT and access the command tree configuration page, see 2.2 Logging In to the U1981 unified gateway Using the LMT.

  2. Choose Command Tree > System Management > Operator Management.

  3. Double-click Config Modify LoginPassword.

    The Config Modify LoginPassword page is displayed.

  4. Select config modify loginpassword and click Execute.

    The page for changing the password is displayed, as shown in Figure 6-1.

  5. Enter the new password and click OK.

Changing the password of the U1981 unified gateway in config mode

  1. Access the Config mode of the LMT command tree. For how to log in to the LMT and access the command tree configuration page, see 2.2 Logging In to the U1981 unified gateway Using the LMT.

  2. Choose Command Tree > System Management > Operator Management.

  3. Double-click Config Modify EnablePassword.

    The Config Modify EnablePassword page is displayed.

  4. Select config modify enablepassword and click Execute.

    The page for changing the password is displayed, as shown in Figure 6-2.

  5. Enter the new password and click OK.

Changing the password for logging in to the web management system

  1. Log in to the web management system. For details, see 2.1 Logging In to the Web Management System.

  2. Click Change Password at the upper right corner of the page.

    The page for changing the password is displayed, as shown in Figure 6-3.

  3. Enter the new password and click OK.
