Dear readers, in particular those who always spend hours and hours together on our largest platform in the Huawei Enterprise Community, this time I decided to write an article related to the Windows Server Operating System. Well before starting the boot activity, it is extremely important and recommended to back up the information so that data loss is not a cause for stress after completing the activity.

Symptoms
Safe mode starts Windows in a basic state, using a limited set of files and drivers. If a problem does not occur in safe mode, then this indicates that the default settings and basic device drivers are not causing the problem. Watching Windows in Safe Mode allows you to narrow down the source of a problem and helps troubleshoot your Server.
Three different types of safe mode boot options are available from the Advanced Boot Options menu.
1. Safe Mode– Starts Windows with as few drivers and services as possible.
2. Safe Mode with Networking– Similar to Safe Mode, but adds the network drivers and services you'll need to access the Internet and other Servers on your network. You will also need this mode to use devices such as a USB flash drive.
NOTE 1: Wireless (Wi-Fi) Internet connection does not support Safe Mode with Networking. |
1. Safe Mode with Command Prompt–Similar to Safe Mode, but uses the command prompts as the user interface instead of the Windows graphical user interface (GUI).
NOTE 2: Windows installer service is disabled in Safe Mode and Safe Mode with Command Prompt. It is not possible to install or uninstall applications in these two modes. |
Cause
In safe mode, Windows functionality is reduced. The task of isolating problems is easier as many non-essential components are disabled, such as sound, third-party drivers and services, non-essential Windows services, and more. Corrupted software or drivers or even improperly configured software installation prevents Windows from successfully booting in normal mode.
