Backing Up the NE Database Manually
After you back up the NE database, you can restore the NE database through the NMS to prevent service loss if the database of the NE is lost.
Prerequisites
- The NMS is communicating with the NE normally.
- The NE data has been configured, and the NE is running normally.
- In the V100R005C00 version, You must be an NM user with "Maintenance Group" rights or higher. in V100R005C00 or a later version, you must be an NM user with "Administrators" rights or higher.

Procedure
- Choose Administration > NE Software Management > NE Data Backup/Restoration from the main menu.
- Click
in the Object Tree, and choose the type of the NE to be backed up.
NOTE: You can click
to select the subnet to which the NE to be backed up belongs. - Select one or more NEs of the same type whose databases need to be backed up from NE View. Right-click the selected NEs and choose Backup from the shortcut menu. Then, the Backup dialog box is displayed.

NOTE: If there are multiple devices, click Search on the Filter tab. In the Filter Device(s) dialog box that is displayed, set Resource Type and Search Mode. Enter the keyword for searching in the Find What dialog box according to Search Mode. - Select the path for backing up data in Backup To.
- If you need to back up the data to the server, choose OSS Server.

- If you need to back up the data to the client, choose OSS Client. Click
. In the Backup to client dialog box that is displayed, select the directory for backing up the data and click OK.
- If you need to back up the data to the server, choose OSS Server.
- Click Start to start the backup. The backup progress is displayed in Operation Status. After the data backup is successful, Operation Status displays a message, indicating that the backup is successful.
