How to assign an IP address to the L3 Interface on an S5700?

Hi, all!

This post enquires about how to assign an IP address to the L3 Interface on an S5700. Please see more information further down.

Huawei S5700

I am trying to assign an IP address on a L3 interface on S5700. Before converting the interface to L3, it was a switch-port.

I ran the 'undo portswitch' command and it executed successfully. But now I cannot assign an IP address to the physical interface. Is this some kind of bug? Any help will be much appreciated.

I can already use SVIs (Switched Virtual Interfaces) to simulate the routed interface, but it is not desired here.

Sorry, currently S5700 dose not suppor to assign a IP address on any port even if "undo portswitch " is configured, and we are working on developing this function to meet your reqirement.

This canbe refered from the product documentation as follow

Usage Scenario

Ethernet interfaces on the switch are Layer 2 interfaces by default. In VLL or VPLS application, if the switch needs to function as a PE device and connects to a CE device through an Ethernet interface, run the undo portswitch command on the Ethernet interface to configure it as a Layer 3 interface

How to assign an IP address to the L3 Interface on an S5700?-1406267-1 NOTE:

Only interfaces of the S5710HI, S5700HI and 5710EI can switch between the Layer 2 and Layer 3 modes.

Ethernet interfaces working at Layer 3 do not support IP address configuration.

Good morning , I performed a software upgrade to the latest available on the site ( S5700 V200R005C00SPC300 ) and thus commands " undo portswitch " and " ip address" became available .

Good day , we are segmenting our network and it bought two Switches S5700-28C - EI Layer 3 , where we will be using to perform the segmentation and the other for redundancy . The problem is that we are not able to activate the routing interfaces ( undo portswitch ) and also as a result of the previous problem , we can not configure IP interfaces . In both cases giving as are not supported / command identified . Bought specifically for these switches are Layer 3 and are unable to activate this feature by hardware limitation , what should we do ? This feature is essential for our need ! The equipment currently is with the following software version :
