S series switches (except the S1700) support the following functions that allow 802.1x authentication users who fail authentication to access the network. Configure either of the following functions based on the authentication failure causes.
- Restrict VLAN function: applies to the scenario that the authentication server rejects a user for some reasons, for example, the user enters an incorrect password. For details, see [link submit="How to configure the restrict VLAN function on S series switches"]How to configure the restrict VLAN function on S series switches[/link].
- Critical VLAN function: applies to the scenario that a user fails authentication because a fault occurs on the network between the access device and the authentication server or the authentication server fails. For details, see [link submit="How to configure the restrict VLAN function on S series switches"]How to configure the restrict VLAN function on S series switches[/link].
