How To Add Cameras In Batches?

  1. Obtain the template file.



    1. In the Users and Devices panel on the left of the Workspace tab page, double-click Devices

    2. Click the Local Domain tab.

    3. Select the domain or cluster to which cameras are to be connected, and choose Add Device > In Batches.

    4. In the dialog box that is displayed, click Export

  2. Open the Batch Add Templates.xlsm file. Fill in the template by following the sequence.

    1. Enter the device name in the Device Name column.

    2. Select camera models in the Model column. If you do not know the camera model or cannot find the camera model in the template, you can select a camera protocol.

    3. Enter camera IP addresses in the Device IP column.

    4. Enter the IP address of the VCN to which cameras are to be connected in the NVR Server IP column.Enter the registration user name and password.

    5. Set Register based on the driver type. Select 2 when the driver type is ONVIF, HWSDK (passive registration), or DHSDK. Select 1 when the driver type is T28181 or HWSDK (active registration).

    6. Optional: To connect to a GB/T 28181-compliant camera or HWSDK-compliant (active registration) camera, you do not need to manually enter a device code since it will be automatically generated in the Device Code column. If a device code has been planned, you can manually enter the device code in the Device Code column. Before entering the device code, delete the formula in the table and enter a single quotation mark (').

    7. Optional: Select values in the Intelligent Attribute column based on the camera type. For a common camera, set this parameter to 0 or leave it empty. 

  3. Click Export as CSV.


    The DeviceImport.csv file is generated.


  4. Select the domain or server to which cameras are to be connected, and choose Add Device > In Batches

  5. On the page that is displayed, click Browse and select the DeviceImport.csv template.

  6. Click OK to import the DeviceImport.csv file.


    After the file is imported, the message "Cameras that fail to be verified: 0" shown in Figure 6 is displayed, indicating that all data in the CSV file is correct.

  7. Click Add and OK to finish adding the cameras.
