Hi,

I request your support to know how to proceed in the following case:

Currently, at ASEA we have an AC 9700M controller installed with 20 Access Points AirEngine5760-51, the solution is already operating correctly and without complications.

They requested Add 10 Access Points to their contract and with this to cover new areas we have these doubts:

Does a license change have to be made for the controller to increase from 20 to 30 Access Points?

Could some code be generated just to increase the additional 10?

Hi friend!

1- Currently your controller has resources for 20 APs, if you want it to control 30 APS now, you must buy the feature of another 10.
2- Once you have made the purchase and received the entitlement ID or the proof of entitlement, we can perform the capacity expansion in the ESDP, for that it is only necessary to activate the new Entitlement ID using exactly the same SN of your current controller. The automatic system would generate a new license with 30 resources.
3- Before installing the new license, make sure it is for 30 APs, since the resources are added in the ESDP system, but not in the controller. The controller will take the last installed license file, thus overwriting the features that your previous license has contained.
4- This controller model (AirEngine 9700-M1) does not include “free” resources for managing APs, so you must buy the total APS resources that you want to manage.

Hope to help you!
