Hello, dear!

Have a nice day!

The CDM solution saves about 60% space. The calculation process is as follows:

Scenario: The enterprise production data volume is 1, the annual growth volume is 10%, the daily data change amount is 0.5%, and the hourly change amount is 0.1%.

Protection policy: One snapshot copy is generated every hour at the DR site and is retained for 30 days.

The calculation process is as follows:

1) CDM storage capacity: 1 + 1 x 0.1% x 24 x 30 = 1.7;

2) Traditional backup software (such as CV)

The backup storage capacity is related to the data type and deduplication ratio. Based on the first full backup deduplication ratio 50% and secondary full backup deduplication ratio 60%, the backup storage capacity of traditional backup (for example, CV) is 2.4.

If backup, disaster recovery, and test/analysis are required, the capacity is as follows: 2.4 + 1 + 1 = 4.4,

Conclusion:

The maximum storage space saved by the CDM is 61%.
(4.4 – 1.7)/4.4 = 61%
