Licensing Requirements

For the devices that support the WLAN AC feature, the licenses for the WLAN AC feature are as follows:
  • When serving as an AC, the AR120 series allow for access of a maximum of sixteen APs without licenses.
  • When no AC license is loaded, the AR150&160&200&AR1200&AR2200&AR3200&AR3600 series serving as ACs can connect to a maximum of four APs. To connect more APs to an AC, apply for and purchase a license from the agent according to the device model:
    • AR150&160&200 series: AR150&160&200 AC Express License
    • AR1200 series: AR1200 AC Express License
    • AR2200 series: AR2200 AC Express License
    • AR3200 series: AR3200 AC Express License
    • AR3600 series: AR3600 AC Express License

Without any license 4 AP can be added .

Function

The service-set command binds a service set to a specified radio of an AP for creating VAPs.

The undo service-set command unbinds a service set from a specified radio.

By default, no service set is bound to any radio.

Format

service-set { name service-set-name | id service-set-id } [ wlan wlan-id ]

undo service-set { id service-set-id | name service-set-name }

Parameters

Parameter

name service-set-name

Specifies the name of a service set.

The service set name must exist.

id service-set-id

wlan wlan-id

Specifies the WLAN ID.

NOTE:
  • If you set a WLAN ID when creating a VAP, the WLAN ID is the ID of a VAP.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

  • A service set defines service parameters and VAP attributes. After the service set is bound to a specified radio on an AP, its service parameters are applied to a WLAN service entity, namely, a VAP. The AP then provides users with differentiated WLAN services based on these service parameters.
  • The service-set command binds a service set to a specified radio of an AP for creating VAPs.
  • You can create a maximum of 16 VAPs on a radio.

Pre-configuration Tasks

Bind a traffic profile, security profile, and WLAN-ESS interface to the service set, and configure an SSID.

Bind a radio profile to the radio interface.

Example

# Bind a service set named ChinaNet to WLAN 1.

<Huawei> system-view
[Huawei] wlan ac
[Huawei-wlan-view] ap 0 radio 0
[Huawei-wlan-radio-0/0] service-set name ChinaNet wlan 1
