How do I view the instance name of the SQL Server database?
Answer
Choose Start > All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 > Configuration Tools > SQL Server Configuration Manager.
The SQL Server Configuration Manager window is displayed.
Click SQL Server Services and find SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) in the Name column on the right. Here, MSSQLSERVER is the instance name of the SQL Server database.
