How Do I Re-assign Drive Letter If the Virtual CD-ROM Drive Is Lost?

Windows 2008 is used as an example. To re-assign drive letter, perform the following operations:

                               Step 1     Log in to the VM as an administrator.

                               Step 2     Right-click My Computer and choose Manage from the shortcut menu, as shown in Figure 7-17.

                               Step 3     In the displayed Server Manager window, click Disk Management. On the right panel, right-click CD-ROM and choose Change Drive Letter and Paths from the shortcut menu, as shown in Figure 7-18.

                               Step 4     In the Change Drive Letter and Paths for 0 MB CDFS CD-ROM 0 dialog box, click Add. See Figure 7-19.

                               Step 5     In the Add Drive Letter or Path dialog box, select Assign the following drive letter and assign a disk drive. Then click OK. See Figure 7-20.
