Q: How do I obtain the NIRC ESN?
A: The ESN of the NIRC server is its MAC address. Log in to the server as the root user and run the ifconfig command to view the MAC address.
What is the NIRC ESN?
The ESN of the NIRC server is its MAC address.
l If the NIRC server has multiple network adapters, the ESN must include the MAC address of the network port bound to the intelligent call distribution communication (ICDComm).
l If the NIRC server uses dual-network-adapter bonding, between the MAC addresses of the bonded network adapters, the ESN must include the MAC address of the network adapter used for external communication.
An NIRC server can be bound to two ESNs at most.
Procedure
Step 1 Log in to the server as the root user.
Step 2 Run the ifconfig command to view the MAC address.
![]()
Step 3 Convert the MAC address to the ESN.
ESN format: An ESN must be a string of 12 uppercase letters, and cannot contain special characters such as hyphens (-), semicolons (;), or periods (.). If the ESN contains fewer than 12 characters, prefix it with zeros.
For example, if the MAC address is 28:6E:D4:89:34:53, the correct ESN is 286ED4893453.
