Q:How do I initiate a conference on the SMC2.0 web interface?
A: You can initiate various types of conferences on the SMC2.0 web interface, as described in Table 1-1.
l SMC2.0 V600R006C10: For details about how to initiate a conference, see the CloudEC V600R006C10SPC300 Product Documentation (Enterprise On-premises, Convergent Conference).
l SMC2.0 V500R002C00: For details about how to initiate a conference, see the HUAWEI SMC2.0 V500R002C00 Product Documentation.
Table 1-1 Conference introduction
Conference Type |
Description |
Initiating a Common Conference |
When initiating a common conference, the conference administrator does not need to specify the conference ID. Participants can join the common conference after the conference administrator initiates it from the SMC2.0. |
Initiating an Ad Hoc Conference |
A user specifies the conference access code when initiating a conference. Endpoints can dial the conference access code or activation or chair password to join the conference. |
Initiating a Recurring Conference |
When your organization needs to hold a conference regularly at a fixed time, you can configure a conference as a recurring conference, reducing the need to schedule the conference repeatedly. |
Initiating a Unidirectional Live Broadcast Conference |
A unidirectional live broadcast conference is a special video conference, which allows endpoints to join the conference as audience participants. |
Initiating a Multipoint Recording-supported Conference |
After a recording server is added to the SMC2.0, you can initiate multipoint and single-point conferences that support recording. Users who cannot attend conferences can log in to the web interface of the recording server to watch conference videos and obtain conference information. |
Initiating a Single-Point Recording-supported Conference |
Initiating a Cascaded Conference |
You can initiate a cascaded conference through MCU cascading on the SMC2.0 to meet requirements for large-scale inter-area video conferences when the bandwidth is limited. |
Initiating a Multi-Level Conference |
On the SMC2.0, common conferences can be cascaded to form a multi-level conference in specified structure. |
Initiating an Interconnection Conference |
In a network where multiple SMC2.0s are interconnected, the administrator can schedule conferences across SMC2.0s, allowing participants in different regions to join the same conference. |
Initiating an Encrypted Conference |
The administrator can initiate an encrypted conference on the SMC2.0. Media streams in an encrypted conference are encrypted to ensure videoconferencing communication security. |
Scheduling a Data Conference |
Data conference provides multiple functions including online voting, bulletin, electronic whiteboard, text chat, file transfer, conference recording on the client and desktop, application, document, and media sharing. |
Initiating a Voice Conference |
The administrator initiates a voice conference, that is, an audio-only conference. |
