How Do I Correctly Configure the NTP ACL

Hello all,

During NTP configuration on the NE40E, multiple commands can be used to add the ACL field. What is the function of the ACLs?

For example, the following commands:

1. ntp-service access server 2000

2. ntp-service access peer 2000

3. ntp-service access synchronization 2000

4. ntp-service access query 2000

In the preceding command, 2000 is the ACL name.

Kindly refer to the following explanation:

1. ntp-service access server 2000

Configure the command on the server, the clients with IP addresses in the ACL can synchronize time with the server.

Configure the command on the client, the client does not synchronize the time with the server.

2. ntp-service access peer 2000

Configure the command on the server, the clients with IP addresses in the ACL can synchronize time with the server.

Configure the command on the client, the client can synchronize time with the servers whose IP addresses are in the ACL.

3. ntp-service access synchronization 2000

Configure the command on the server, the clients with IP addresses in the ACL can synchronize the time with the server.

Configure the command on the client, the client can synchronize time with the servers whose IP addresses are in the ACL.

4. ntp-service access query 2000

For security purposes, the query function is not implemented. If the ACL is configured, the time cannot be synchronized.
