How do I configure Red Hat 7 or CentOS 7 OS before using VM specification customization and random password features?

Before using the preceding features, you must perform the following procedures:

Add the setpasswd.sh script to the bootscript, for example, /etc/rc.d/rc.local, in the template image. The bootscript paths vary depending on the operating systems (OSs). The following table lists the bootscript path of each system. After adding setpasswd.sh to the bootscript, add operation permission to the setpasswd.sh file as instructed.

OS

Bootscript Path

Centos7.0

/etc/rc.d/rc.loacl

RedHat7.0

/etc/rc.d/rc.loacl

Centos7.1

/etc/rc.d/rc.loacl

RedHat7.1

/etc/rc.d/rc.loacl

Euler linux2.0

/etc/rc.d/rc.loacl

Ubuntu 14.04

/etc/init.d/rc

Fedora 20

/etc/rc.d/rc.local

SUSE 12

/etc/init.d/after.local

Oracle 7.0

/etc/rc.d/rc.local

Check whether the ifconfig command is available in the existing system. This command is not available in Red Hat 7 because this command is by default not installed in Red Hat 7 OS in most installation scenarios. If the ifconfig command is not available, attach the OS image ISO file to the VM by performing the following steps:

3.         Attach the source image ISO file to a VM directory by following the procedure for installing the Linux PV Driver.

4.         Copy the rpm package in the directory displayed in the following figure to any other directory in the VM, install this rpm package, and check whether the ifconfigcommand can be executed.

Copy the setpasswd.sh script from FusionSphere SIA 1.3.10.180_GuestOSDriver for FusionSphere V100R003C10.zip\03 Script\ or FusionSphere SIA 1.3.10.180_GuestOSDriver for FusionSphere V100R005C00.zip\ for FusionCompute\03 script\ to the directory displayed in the following figure to overwrite the existing script file with the same permission as the source script file.
