Q: How do I collect fault information about UC applications?
A: You can use the BMU or the eSight to collect UC applications logs which record fault information.
Q: Which method should I choose?
A: For the BMU, AppAgent, UMServer, eServer, and MAA, you are recommended to collect logs using the BMU. For the Meeting MS, only the eSight can be used to collect logs.
Collecting Fault Information Using the BMU
Step 1 Log in to the BMU as the admin user.
The URL of the BMU management portal is https://IP address of the BMU server:18443.
Step 2 Choose System > Logs.
Step 3 On the Collect Server Log tab page, click Add and create a log collection task, as shown in Figure 1-1.

Step 4 (Optional) Enable log tracing if more details related to a specific user need to be collected for fault locating.
1. On the Log Trace tab page, click Add.
2. Select the desired user and server, as shown in Figure 1-2.

corresponding to the created
log collection task. Create a debug log task, as shown in Figure 1-3.

2. Click Refresh. When the status of the debug log task is displayed as Task succeeded, click Back, as shown in Figure 1-4.

Step 6 Replicate the issue for log collection and fault locating.
Step 7 On the Collect Server Log tab page, select the task and click Collect.
Step 8 Click Refresh. When the status of the log collection task is displayed as Task succeeded, download the collected logs to the local PC, as shown in Figure 1-5.
