Q: How do I change the language of U2980 voice files to Portuguese?

A: Configure the grammar package and upload voice files to the file server.

Background

l   The system provides built-in grammar packages for Mandarin and British English. If you need to use another grammar package, you must download it.

l   If the MSU board needs to play voice files in a language other than Mandarin or British English, the MSU board must use the grammar package to parse voice files.

l   The customer must record and name standard voice files based on the voice file list, and record service, tone, and note voice files based on site requirements.

Procedure

   Step 1      Download the grammar package.

1.         Log in to http://support.huawei.com/enterprise, download 13_VOICE_DDM.rar, and decompress the package.

Download path: SUPPORT > Software > UC&C > Unified Communications & Contact Center > IP Telephony > IP Telephony Gateways > eSpace U2980. Select the version and download the 13_VOICE_DDM.rar package.

2.         Open Released Language Packages for U2900.xls and check whether the required grammar package is provided.

           If yes, obtain the grammar package (.ddm or .ddm.lx file) from 02-Language Packages.

           If no, contact the service provider.

   Step 2      Load the grammar package.

1.         Use the Samba service to access the OMU board on the OMU client (the user name is omu and the password is mtcaPass).

           MSUA: Copy the .ddm file to \\OMU_IP\huawei\cgp\workshop\nes\neX\workspace1\bin\APP\MSU\VxWorks, where OMU_IP indicates the IP address of the OMU board and neX indicates the NE ID.

           MSUA+: Copy the .ddm.lx file to \\OMU_IP\huawei\cgp\workshop\nes\neX\workspace1\bin\APP\MSU\Linux, where OMU_IP indicates the IP address of the OMU board and neX indicates the NE ID .

2.         Run the LST MODULE command to query module numbers of the MSU boards where you want to load the grammar package.

3.         Run the DSP LANGPKG command to check whether the grammar package (.ddm file) has been loaded.

If the grammar package has been loaded, you must run the RMV LANGPKG command to delete the .ddm file on each MSU board. For example:

RMV LANGPKG: LANGID=22;

4.         Run the SET LANGID command to set the relationship between the language ID and grammar package. If multiple languages exist, you must set the relationships with grammar packages for all languages.

A maximum of two grammar packages can be loaded locally. You must record the language IDs corresponding to the grammar packages that you want to load.

SET LANGID: LANGID=22, DELE=NO, PKGNAME="22_Tur.ddm", CHGLANGNAME=NO;

5.         Run the LOD LANGPKG command to load the .ddm file on each MSU board. If multiple languages exist, you must load grammar packages for all languages on all MSU boards.

LOD LANGPKG: MN=472, LANGID=22;
LOD LANGPKG: MN=473, LANGID=22;
LOD LANGPKG: MN=474, LANGID=22;
LOD LANGPKG: MN=475, LANGID=22;

6.         Run the ACT LANGPKG command to activate the .ddm file. You must activate all grammar packages that are loaded on all MSU boards.

ACT LANGPKG: MN=472, LANGID=22;
ACT LANGPKG: MN=473, LANGID=22;
ACT LANGPKG: MN=474, LANGID=22;
ACT LANGPKG: MN=475, LANGID=22;

7.         Run the CON LANGPKG command to verify that the .ddm file has been loaded.

CON LANGPKG: MN=472, LANGID=22;
CON LANGPKG: MN=473, LANGID=22;
CON LANGPKG: MN=474, LANGID=22;
CON LANGPKG: MN=475, LANGID=22;

8.         Run the DSP LANGPKG command to view the grammar package status. You must ensure that required grammar packages have been loaded on all MSU boards, and all grammar packages are in the running state.

   Step 3      Record and upload voice files to the file server.

1.         Record standard voice files (performed by the customer).

Download the voice file list as the service provider and provide it to the customer. The customer records and names standard voice files based on the voice file list.

For details about how to record standard voice files, see the eSpace U2900 Series Grammar Package Customization Guide.

Download path: SUPPORT > Product Support > Unified Communications and Collaboration > Unified Communications > Unified Communications Gateways > eSpace U2980 > eSpace U2980 V100R001C10 > 13_VOICE_DDM.rar

2.         Record service, tone, and note voice files (performed by the customer).

If grammar packages for languages other than Mandarin and British English are loaded, tone voice files must be recorded onsite. A tone voice file is named in the following format: file header + index, where file header can be note (default value) or ent.

3.         Change the format of voice files.

To achieve best voice playback effect, voice files must be in the A-law or μ-law format. (Generally, the A-law format is used.)

4.         Upload voice files to the shared directory on the file server. You can run the LST VOLCFG command to query the directory. Generally, the directory is /share.

Upload UC voice files to /share.

By default, voice files provided by the eSpace U2980 gateway are stored in the following directories:

           service: stores service voice files. You can run the LST INCFG command to query the directory.

           standard: stores standard voice files. You can run the LST INCFG command to query the directory.

           tone: stores tone voice files. You can run the LST INCFG command to query the directory.

           note: stores note voice files. You can run the LST NOTEPRM command to query the directory.

5.         Check the permissions on the UC voice files.

a.         Use the PuTTY to access /share on the file server.

b.         Run the ls -l command to verify that the UC voice files exist and permissions on these files are correct.

Permissions on a UC voice file must be set to 755.

c.         If the permissions are incorrect, run the chmod -R 755 /share command to modify the permissions.

   Step 4      Load voice files to the memory of the MSU board.

1.         Run the UPD STD command to load standard or tone voice files.

2.         Run the DSP VOICE command to query standard or tone voice files that have been loaded.

DSP VOICE: MN=Module number of the MSU board, TY=Voice type (STANDARD for standard voice files and TONE for tone voice files)

If voice codes are displayed, voice files are loaded successfully.

----End
