How Do I Access the Switch Configured with a VLANIF Interface Connected to Another Trunk

Hello,

There's a layer-three switch.

G0/0/1 is configured with Vlanif 2, 10.0.0.1 is configured with DHCP, and some PCS is connected to the layer-two switch, IP is available and the gateway is 10.0.0.1.

G0/0/2 has VLANIF 10 10.1.0.1 trunk configured to another layer-three switch with VLANIF 10 10.1.0.2 interface.


The problem now is that these PCS can ping 10.1.0.1, but cannot ping 10.1.0.2. All ports allow VLAN 2 and 10 to pass through, with the corresponding VlanIF added. If you hook up a PC instead of a layer-three switch, configure the IP with 10.1.0.2 and change it to ACCESS.

Hello,

Even if the same network segment and VLAN are in the same VLAN, you need to configure a route to 10.1.0.1 on the next Layer 3 device when the trunk VLANIF interface is interconnected. In this way, the two devices can communicate with each other.

Hello!
In the simple way, of you will configure the switch with all vlans interfaces IP addresses and use it as default router in the DHCP, then users will use it as the router and this switch will row the packets between the vlans.
