How do change the account & password of the HG8245H

Hello, there!

I changed the account & password for the Huawei hg8245h, and I can't remember the account & the password. is there a way to reset both? Initially, the account was: telecomadmin password: admintelecom 

I changed both and I can't remember what account name I used. can you please help me out?

If you can, provide the version of the HG8245H for you to check whether the HG8245H is customized for the ISP.


Generally, if you forget the login password, you can log in to the device in either of the following ways


1. Press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds to reset the device. After the device is restored to its factory settings, you can log in to the device using the account and password (telecomadmin) described in the problem description. However, after the device is reset, the previous configuration data will be lost. In this case, you need to contact the ISP to restore the configuration data.


2. You can obtain the administrator account and password from the ISP to log in to the device WebUI. After logging in to the device WebUI, click the System Tools tab and then choose Modify Login Password from the navigation tree. In the right pane, change the password of the telecomadmin user.

The default user name and password of a common user are as follows:


V300R016C10 and earlier versions: root/admin.
V300R017C00 and later versions: root/adminHW.


The default login IP address, user name, and password may be different from the preceding ones. For details, see the device nameplate.


If you fail to log in using the default account and password, the following situations may occur: 


1. The password of the default account has been changed. 


2. The default password varies in different regions. 


 Solution: 


Contact the device provider or ISP to obtain the administrator account and password, log in to the web page using the administrator account and password, and change the default password.

If you want to know how to change the password follow the next steps:


Step 1. You can obtain default username and password on the product nameplate.
Step 2. Enter the IP address in the browser address bar and press "Enter". In the "Login" window, input "Username" and "Password" according to the product nameplate.

I already changed the account & password sir. I forgot which account and password I used. before I performed the changed, the default account & password was telecomadmin & admin telecom respectively. I just can't remember to which name I changed the account and password. is there a way that I could reset both account name and password? or my only option is to contact my ISP in my country which is Orange in my case.

The normal hard reset is in the power-on state. Hold down the RESET button for a long period of time (longer than 10s) to restart the ONT with factory settings.


If the factory settings cannot be restored, check whether the hardware is faulty. If yes, contact the local dealer for replacement.
