To retain the device configuration after a device is restarted, run the save command to save the current configuration before restarting the device.

If NULL is used as the configuration file for the startup, the following information is displayed when you save the current configuration:

<HUAWEI> save
The current configuration will be written to the device.
Are you sure to continue?[Y/N]y
Info: Please input the file name ( *.cfg, *.zip ) [vrpcfg.zip]:   //Enter the name of the configuration file or press Enter. By default, the configuration file is saved in vrpcfg.zip.
Now saving the current configuration to the slot 0....
Save the configuration successfully.

If the configuration file used for the startup is not NULL, the following information is displayed when you save the current configuration:

<HUAWEI> save
The current configuration will be written to the device.
Are you sure to continue?[Y/N]y
Now saving the current configuration to the slot 0...
Save the configuration successfully.

NOTE:
The command outputs on your device may be different from that provided in this example.
