How Can I Query SNs of Devices?

VTL6900 V100R005

VTL6000

1.  Query the SN of a VTL server or SIR server.

a. In the address box of the web browser, type the IPMI IP address of the VTL server or SIR server and press Enter. The login page is displayed.
b. Enter the user name and password and click Submit to go to the graphical interface for monitoring and managing the VTL server or SIR server.
    The default user name and password are root and calvin respectively. In the Domain area, select the default This iDRAC.
c. In the navigation tree, click System. In the function pane, click the Property tab and click System Summary.
d. In the Server Information area, you can query the value of Service Label. The value is the SN of the VTL server or SIR server.

2.  Query the SN of a storage unit.

     Log in to the Integrated Storage Manager (ISM) for storage units. In the navigation tree, click All Devices. Then click the storage device that you have logged in to. In the Device Basic Information area, you can view the value of Device SN. The value is the SN of the storage unit.

3.  Query the SN of a Fibre Channel switch.

a. In the address box of the web browser, enter the IP address of the Fibre Channel switch's management network port and press Enter. The Warning-Security dialog box is displayed.
b. Click No. The Add a New Fabric - QuickTools dialog box is displayed.
c. Type the user name and password and click Add Fabric. The No secure connection check dialog box is displayed.
    The default user name and password are admin and password respectively.
d. Click Yes. The Password change required dialog box is displayed.
e. Click OK. The graphical interface for managing the Fibre Channel switch is displayed.
f. Click the Switch tab. Then click theHow Can I Query SNs of Devices?-1112027-1icon. You can view the value of Serial Number. The value is the SN of the Fibre Channel switch.

VTL6900

1.  Query the SN of a VTL server or SIR server.

b. In the Language drop-down list box, select your language and then enter the user name, password, and verification code.
    The default user name and password are root and Admin@storage respectively.
c. Click Login. The OceanStor ISM Integrated Storage Manager Professional Edition page is displayed.
d. In the navigation tree, choose Device Management > Device Info. In the Device Basic Information area, you can view the value of Device SN. The value is the SN of the VTL server or SIR server.

2.  Query the SN of a storage unit.

     Log in to ISM for storage units. In the navigation tree, click All Devices. Then click the storage device that you have logged in to. In the Device Basic Information area, you can view the value of Device SN. The value is the SN of the storage unit.
