Hey there!
By default, a device supports a maximum of 16 APs. To connect more central or common APs to the device, you can purchase a 512AP, 128AP, 64AP, or 16AP license (WLAN access controller AP resource license). AP licenses with different capacities can be purchased in combination.
The formula for calculating the maximum number of APs that can be connected to a device after expansion is as follows: M = 512 x X + 128 x Y + 64 x Z + 16 x W + 16
In the formula, M indicates the maximum number of APs after expansion; X, Y, Z, and W indicate the numbers of 512AP, 128AP, 64AP, and 16AP licenses that are purchased, respectively; 16 indicates the default number of APs supported by a device.
If the value of M in the preceding formula exceeds the maximum number of APs supported by the chassis, the number of APs that can be connected to the device is restricted by the maximum number of APs supported by the chassis.
