How can I check if RF port supports DTF testing or not

Hello every one,

in this post will talk about DTF test one of the most important features that distinguishes Huawei

RF from other vendors.

DTF (Distance To Fault)  It is a performance verification and fault analysis tool used for feeder path .

through this feature, you can dispense with site master and make sweep test to feeder path, and about how to use this feature , my dear friend mohamed ahmed addressed it in the following post

https://forum.huawei.com/enterprise/en/how-to-check-vswr-distance-without-site-master-in-3g/thread/776079-100305

but in this post will talk about how to know that RF port supprot this feature (DTF test) or not

often, sometimes some colleagues try to make DTF test but the process failure and apears to them the following

message

Why this message apear sometimes ?

the answer is simply that the RF port dose not have TX channel enabled and this RF port work RX only , and DTF test need TX channel activated on port to work.

How can I check if this port supports DTF testing or not ?

1-first use LST SECTOREQM to list the configuration of sector equipment to get sector id equipment .

3

2- now we get sector id equipment and use LST SECTOREQM again and put id of sector you want to check  on it

5

now we can see RX & TX configuration on this sector and know if port  work TX/RXor RX only

Antenna Channel No : Indicates the channel number of a sector equipment antenna on an RRU.

Antenna RX/TX Mode : Indicates the RX/TX mode of the antenna.

TX Antenna Master/Slave Mode : Indicates whether a TX antenna works in master or slave mode.

DTF testing is not available on RF which only works RX but there is a solution if you want to do a DTF test on the port RX only you can swap the feeder jumper with port TX/RX working

How DTF work

DTF displays RF return loss or VSWR data versus distance. The effects of poor connections, damaged cables, or defective antennas are quickly recognized. Since DTF automatically calculates the attenuation against the distance, the display accurately indicates the return loss or VSWR of the antenna.
