Hello,

You can set UOA parameters in eSight for connecting the VCN to eSight. For example, to configure the VCN5X0 to connect to eSight, configure information about the UOA to which the VCN5X0 connects in eSight in this topic.

Procedure

  1. Log in to eSight.

  2. Add a subnet.

    NOTE:

You can add a region (for example, public s*** in region A) as a subnet and allocate all devices in the region to the subnet to improve the management efficiency.

    1. Choose Resource > Common > Add Resource > Add Subnet from the main menu.

    2. Set the subnet name.

    3. Click OK.

  3. Add the UOA.

    NOTE:

If a message is displayed indicating SNMP parameter error, perform the steps described in Troubleshooting When Parameter Errors Occur During eSight and UOA Connection.

  • If the NEs are added successfully, the message "Adding NEs successfully" is displayed.

  • If the NEs fail to be added, the message "Adding NEs failed" is displayed. Set the parameters again based on the causes in the error message that is displayed.

  • Contain 8 characters at least.

  • Contain at least two types of the following: uppercase letter, lowercase letter, digit, and special character.

  • Contain 8 characters at least.

  • Contain at least two types of the following: uppercase letter, lowercase letter, digit, and special character.

  1. Log in to the UOA server as the uoausr user.

  2. Run the following commands to change the password:

    cd ${UOA_RUN_ROOT}/tools

    uoa_encrypt_tool

  3. Enter the new password as prompted.

    NOTE:

A new password must meet the following requirements:

Set a password that meets the preceding requirements by referring to Password Maintenance Suggestions, and remember the new password.

  4. Write the generated ciphertext password into the AuthPassword parameter in the uoa_snmpagent.ini file. Then save the file and exit.

  5. After the password is changed, restart the UOA. For details, see Manually Starting and Stopping the UOA.

  6. Choose Resource > Common > Add Resource > Add Resource from the main menu.

  7. Select Intelligent Video Surveillance > VCN.

  8. Set related UOA parameters. For details about the parameters, see Table 1.

    Table 1 Parameter description

    Parameter

    Description

    How to Set

    Basic Information

    Subnet

Subnet to which the added UOA belongs, facilitating management.

Select the name of the subnet added in 2.

    Access agent name

    UOA name displayed in eSight.

    Define a name.

    SNMP

    IP address

IP address of the general server where the UOA is located for connecting to eSight.

    NOTE:

If the VCN is deployed in cluster mode, you need to add the IP address of each node in the cluster.

Enter the IP address of the general server where the UOA is located for connecting to eSight.

    Port

Port that the UOA uses to receive requests from eSight.

    Set this parameter to 6600.

    Security name

    User security name.

    Set this parameter to uoagent.

    Context name

Name of the subset for the managed objects.

    Set this parameter to uoagent.

    Authentication protocol

Algorithm that the UOA uses to authenticate eSight.

    Set this parameter to HMAC_SHA.

    Authentication key

Password that the UOA uses to authenticate eSight.

If the authentication key is not changed, set this parameter to the default value U0A@gent.

During the installation, the parameter value is written into the /home/uoausr/uoasetup/cfg/uoa_snmpagent.ini file after being encrypted. To change the parameter value, perform the following steps:

    Privacy protocol

Algorithm used for data encryption during the communication between eSight and the UOA.

    Set this parameter to AES_128.

    Privacy key

Password that eSight uses to parse the encrypted data when communicating with the UOA.

If the private key is not changed, set this parameter to the default value U1A@gent.

During the installation, the parameter value is written into the /home/uoausr/uoasetup/cfg/uoa_snmpagent.ini file after being encrypted. The method of changing this password is the same as the method of changing Authentication key. After changing this password, write the generated ciphertext password into the PrivPassword parameter in the $UOA_Server/cfg/uoa_snmpagent.ini file.

After the password is changed, restart the UOA. For details, see Manually Starting and Stopping the UOA.

It is recommended that the values of Privacy key and Authentication key be different and meet password complexity requirements.

    NOTE:

A new password must meet the following requirements:

Set a password that meets the preceding requirements by referring to Password Maintenance Suggestions, and remember the new password.

    Time-out period (s)

Timeout period, within which the device must respond to the message sent by eSight. If the device does not respond within the timeout period, eSight considers that the device does not exist.

    Set this parameter to 30.

  9. Click Connectivity Test to check whether the newly-added device can connect to eSight.

  10. Click OK.

The progress bar for adding the UOA and the message "Adding NEs...Please wait" are displayed.

Verification

  1. Choose Resource > Intelligent Video Surveillance.

  2. After you click Resource Management > Monitoring Platform in the navigation tree on the left, you can find the added device in the managed object list on the right, as shown in Figure 3.

    IVS

  3.

  4. Choose Topology > Topology Management. The added subnet is displayed.

  5. Double-click the subnet icon. The connected VCN is displayed.

  6. Double-click the VCN icon. The status of each service module is displayed, as shown in Figure 4.

    NOTE:

The colors of the subnet and device icons indicate the status of the corresponding or contained service modules. Table 2 describes the colors and status.

Hello,

Installing the UOA on a General-Purpose Server

This topic describes how to install the UOA on a general-purpose server.

Procedure

  1. Obtain the UOA software in the following ways:

  • If you are an enterprise user, log in to http://support.huawei.com/enterprise, choose SUPPORT > Video Surveillance > Video Surveillance Platforms > VCN510/VCN520/VCN540, click the Software Download tab, choose V100R003 > V100R003C00, select VCN510/VCN520/VCN540 V100R003C00SPC200, and download the UOA_INSTALL.tar.gz package.

  • If you are a carrier user, log in to http://support.huawei.com/carrier, choose Support > Product Support > Cloud Core Network > Video > Video Surveillance > VCN510/VCN520/VCN540, click the Software tab, select V100R003 > V100R003C00, Click VCN510/VCN520/VCN540 V100R003C00SPC200, and download the UOA_INSTALL.tar.gz package.

Upload the UOA software to a general-purpose server in SFTP mode.

Log in to the operating system of the general server as the root user.

Decompress the UOA software package.

  1. Run the cd filepath command to go to the directory where the UOA software package is located.

    icon-note.gif NOTE:

Replace filepath in the command with the actual path of the UOA software package, for example, /home.

  2. Run the tar zxvf UOA_INSTALL.tar.gz command to decompress the UOA software package.

Run the cd filepath/UOA_INSTALL command to go to the UOA software directory.

icon-note.gif NOTE:

In the command, filepath indicates the path of the UOA_INSTALL directory, for example, /home. Change it based on the site requirements.

Run the sh install_uoa.sh IP command to install the UOA.

icon-note.gif NOTE:

In the command, IP indicates the IP address of the UOA on the general-purpose server for connecting to eSight and the VCN5X0.
