High wlan transit latency after upgrade to R019C00SPC9XX

HiCoins as reward: 5 (problem unresolved)

HI all,

I have some AP7060DN running on 802.3at compatbile switches, and this works fine on lateset R019C00SPC8XX software. There are some disabled spatial streams(limited to 3/4)  but that is to be expected as AP7060DN is an powerfull AP and prefers 802.3bt for full features operation.

However when we upgrade the ap's to R019C00SPC9XX AP software, connections start to show significant latency up to a unworkable ammount.

When checking the radio side we notice that all spatial streams are enabled on at least the 5Ghz radio where I would expect only 3/4 of the total amount to be available like on the 8XX software.

I did try limiting the amount of spatials streams in the SSID configuration but the operational latency stays very high, so we are forced back to AP software R019C00SPC8XX.

Any idea on this behaviour ?

Hi,
When the AP7060DN is powered by 802.3bt, all functions are not limited. And when it is powered by 802.3bt, the USB function and IoT module are not supported, the 2.4 GHz radio supports up to 3x3 MIMO(3 spatial streams), and the 5 GHz radio supports up to 6x6 MIMO( 6 spatial streams). You can check whether the current device configuration exceeds the threshold.  Otherwise, the latency should not occur. It may be caused by other reasons. You are advised to contact the TAC for troubleshooting.

Well it seems that the limitation based on POE 802.3at on SPC9XX is broken as it does work correctly on SPC8XX.

Can one of the moderators ask R&D to look into this ? Even in the latest 905 release, the AP states limited performance because of 802.3AT but does actively use 8x8 mu-mimo which is not the case in the 800 series firmware for this ap.

Think of it as free QA information :-)
