Hello, friend! The HG8245W5 is a carrier series device. First, you need to log in to the device's web interface. Click the Advanced Configuration > WLAN tab, and choose WiFi Coverage Management from the navigation tree on the left. In the right pane, specify the SSID used for smart WiFi coverage and add the identified external AP devices to the WiFi network.

Huawei ONTs do not support Wi-Fi extension with AP from other vendors. To perform Wi-Fi extension you need to use Huawei Mesh solution. For more information you can see the following post: https://forum.huawei.com/enterprise/en/huawei-ont-mesh-network/thread/772069-100181 i hope it helpful!

I'm sorry, my dear! As stated by Diego Silva, Huawei ONTs do not support third-party AP extension. Therefore, third-party APs can only function as routers for Huawei ONTs and cannot implement Wi-Fi roaming. Therefore, you need to configure APs separately. |
