HG8245H not leasing IP to NAS DS220+

I have a HG8245H working for years at home. There are around 10 gadget connect to internet through it. Including my computer through a cable, and phone, ipad, printer through wifi.


I bought a Synology NAS DS220+ .

I have tried to auto get IP from HG8245H, always got an IP like : 169.254.

When I mannually set it:

192.168.100.39     /    192.168.100.66   /   192.168.100.88  / 192.168.100.99 / other IP tried too.

192.168.100.1

255.255.255.0

8.8.8.8




It doens't work.

I cannot ping through the NAS from my laptop.


I bought 1 NAS from Synology on December 30 2021, and spent 2 week complaining to synology, and got an exchange.

A new NAS DS220+ got to me today. Same problem.


So, what can I do to debug this DHCP not working problem ?

No problem can be found based on the information provided by you. You need to capture packets in mirroring mode to reproduce the problem.

Thank you so much.
I spent the whole new year holiday battling with the no-networking NAS DS220+.
After argueing with synology for 2 weeks, I finally got a new one today.

Seems the trouble is still there.

Please kindly provide your opinion, how could I solve this DHCP problem.

It's difficult to determine the cause from your problem description alone.

If you think the fault is caused by the ONT, you may need to refer to the following link (method 2, two files) to collect device information:

hi, I have downloaded this file.

seems this forum system doesn't allow me to upload it here.

I try to change the extension name
from: collectFaultFinish.txt
to : collectFaultFinish.txt.jpg

seems not working.

any suggestion ?
