Hi, all!


This post talks about some HG8245H DNS firmware issues. Please see more details below.


Huawei HG8245H


ISSUE DESCRIPTION

I have in my hand a WAP HG8245H. And the issues are:


1. can't change the DNS configuration;


2. can't find the firmware upgrade configuration tab.


Note:


The WAP devices I got from ISP (IM2 GIG a.k.a INDOSAT, Indonesia).


Please assist me in solving these HG8245H DNS firmware issues. Thanks in advance!

Hello there!

DNS Configuration

1. Click the Network Application tab and then choose DNS Configuration from the navigation tree. In the right pane, configure the DNS template, DNS parameters and you can also configure the static DNS domain name resolution, as shown in Figure 3-73.

well since i need to bring up a web in my home, now i can't, ddns config can be edited, but no port forwarding configurations... darn...

 Firmware Upgrade

  1. In the navigation tree on the left, choose System Tools > Firmware Upgrade. In the pane on the right, click Browse. In the dialog box that is displayed, select the target software version of the device. Click Update Firmware to upgrade the software of the device, as shown in Figure 3-86.

  2. After the upgrade is successful, a message is displayed indicating that the device needs to be reset. Click Restart. The configuration data takes effect after the device is reset.

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum

1. I don't have System Tools > Firmware Upgrade option in my router.

2. I really need to configure openDNS on this router. But I cannot because the area is grayed out and cannot be edited (LAN > DHCP server configuration > Primary, Secondary DNS Server)

I  read on other websites that there is an administrator password for the  router other than the default password. E.g. something like  telecomadmin/admintelecom, and I tried every combination I could find online like admin/root etc. (https://www.cleancss.com/router-default/Huawei/HG8245H)

My default password is user/user and I cannot login as admin to change the DNS settings. Please let me know fix to this.
