This post is about the issue that HG8245H can't factory reset. Please see more details as you read further down.


Huawei HG8245H


ISSUE DESCRIPTION


I've been trying to factory reset my router because I can't login with the default username and password (root/admin).


POSSIBLE SOLUTION 


I've pushed the RESET button on the router turned on for 10 secs, 30 secs, 60 secs, even more than 60 secs and it doesn't work; I've tried it with the router turned off. Don't know what else to do.


Please assist me in solving this issue that HG8245H can't factory reset. Thanks in advance!

Hello!


The normal hard reset is in the power-on state. Hold down the RESET button for a long period of time (longer than 10s) to restart the ONT with factory settings.


If the factory settings cannot be restored, check whether the hardware is faulty. If yes, contact the local dealer for replacement.

Hi!

How To Reset Huawei HG8245H Router With Button :

To perform a factory reset, please follow Below steps.
  • Power on the Huawei Router, place a paper clip or Pin into the hole on the back of the Router labeled Reset.
  • Hold paper clip or pin down for 10 to 15 seconds and release.
  • The Router will reboot on its own. Once the WLAN light stops blinking, the Router is reset.
  • Please Note, Resetting the Huawei router does not reset the firmware to an earlier version. It will only change all settings back to factory defaults.
Huawei HG8245H Default Login, Password and IP :

Once your Huawei router has been reset, it goes back to it’s factory defaults Settings.
  • IP address: 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
  • Username: admin
  • Password: admin or password
  • OR see back side of your device.

I also have this problem, it is annoying because I want to restore the default settings with the IP web page but I forgot the password, so I tried the RESET button and it doesn't work, I left the button at least 15, 20, 30, 50, 60 seconds , even 3 days and nothing ... :(

To reset the Huawei HG8245H to its default settings, you have to do the following steps:
1. Turn on router.
2. Press Factory Reset button and hold for at least 15 seconds.
3. Device restarts automatically.
4. Default settings have been restored.

I have look in the back of my router and the password was there, but I don't know what is the account for that password. I have tried with admin, root, HG8245H, Huawei-HG8245H-702F, but no luck.

Either with root:adminHW or adminHW:password from behind the router.

Can somebody please tell me if reseting my Huawei HG8245H router will change my connection name and password or will it just reset the Account name and password for logging in.Please tell me I want to see if it will change the internet name and password or the login details for the router.PLease respond

Hi,
Only the default password of the HG8245H user name is restored, but the network parameters are also restored to the default values, which may cause service interruption.

Can you simplify this for me please? I'm not sure what you are trying to say but I think you are trying to tell me that only the default login password is restored but network name and password to connect to the network is also changed.Please respond

i newly buy this device after setup my account i see wifi not starting
i try to reset and restore factory default but not solve the problem and there is no firmware for this device to upgrade .
