Hi, i'm new to huawei enterprise product, and i very like how they works, so this can be a great occasion to start using it.

I have this situation (found already configured)

1 x AC6005-8 V200R006

9 x AP5130DN V200R006

but the problem is that every access point have his own configuration, and the controller is installed and connected but not used, i tried to import aps in the controller config by web interface (i can access via ssh to AC and APS same subnet and only one VLAN)

but i'm not able to deploy the configuration to access points and they still indipendent, if i try to add it manually via mac adress the state in the AC console is idle and i'm not able to deploy.

so i have to create the configuration in the controller and deploy it to all APS not like now that everythings is working but bypassing the contoller, the username and password is the same in the controller and in every APS

Thanks for your help.

What you said is that the AP isn`t online in the controller, and the SSID hw_manage_xxxx is their own SSID for every AP to config.

The first step that you must let the link AP----SW-----controller use a managed vlan, and let the AP go online.

you can use the document as follow:

http://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=EDOC1000088060&lang=en

the case:

is it necessary to create a vlan for management?

right now ac switch and ap are in vlan1 and in the same subnet of the router, and for us (small office) it's ok like this. Thanks for the link that is very useful, could you please explain in a lower level how very basic installation works? i mean controller deploying configuration to aps.

Thank you very much

What i mean is, in the document seems that the AC can deploy the config to any ap that it knows the mac adress and serial number, i think i can set in the ap the ip or mac adress of the controller from where grabbing configuration. Am i wrong?

I followed the document step by step, even resetting to factory defaults an access point to check if it can go online on the AC but it didn't work, our network schema is the following:

ROUTER 192.168.3.1 -> POE MANAGED SWITCH -> AC6005 192.168.3.2 -> 9 x AP5130DN (192.168.3.3 - 11)

All APS are configured and reacheable from web manager but as stand alone aps, not getting config from the controller.

APS are not connected directly to the AC but are connected to the POE switch (HPE 3600 24 PoE+ V2), we using only VLAN1, all ports untagged member VLAN1 and only one Virtual Interface in the VLAN1 192.168.3.2

Access Points don't want to go online with the AC, i even tried to add it manually with mac adress and serial number, username and password for managing it's the same.... But all the APS remain idle, i can reach the APS and the controller from my laptop, but seems AC and APS doesen't want to communicate, please help me, because my colleagues are looking forward to trash all the Huawei infrastructure and buy ubiquiti, but i'm sure huawei is much much better and i want to fix the situation.

Are the APs in FAT AP Mode?

How can i check it?

Login to the AP directly (via Console/Serial Cable) and use the command "display version".
If something like FatAP4X30XN_V200R006C10SPCa00 shows up, you need to switch the AP Mode to Fit AP.
