Hi tommysubpanya,

If the physical stack member port protocol is Down but the physical stack member port protocol is Up, perform the following steps to rectify the fault:

1. Check whether the stack connection meets the expectation. If not, modify the stack connection.

2. Run the display interface interface-type interface-number command to check whether error packets exist on the interface. If yes, check whether the optical modules at both ends are securely inserted or whether the optical modules are faulty.

3. Run the display stack statistics command multiple times in the diagnostic view to check whether stack protocol packets are normally received and sent. If yes, check the stack configuration or cable connections.

The physical layer status of the port is Up and the status of the protocol layer is Down. Generally, the configurations of the interfaces on both sides are inconsistent. For details please refer to the below link
